Antibody depending cytotoxicity processes (ADCC)

 

This process occur when an antibody links an specific cellular surface antigen and reacts leaving free its Fc-fraction. Cells with cytotoxic availability and Fc-receptors, like NK cells and macrophages, can link immunoglobulin Fc fragment and induces cellular cytotoxicity

The Antibody confers specificity in this reaction, but NK cell confers cytotoxic effector action.  (Chapter 7).
