Belén Rodríguez Sánchez
She is graduated in Biology and Biochemistry from the Universidad de Salamanca and she has a PhD in biochemistry from the same University. She has done research in the field of Molecular Biology in the Department of Medicine, Biochemistry and Microbiology at the University of Uppsala (Sweden) as a post-doctorate student and is currently responsible for the practical accomplishment of several European projects that we are carrying out in our laboratory, such as the Lab-on-site project in which new molecular techniques have been optimized. These techniques allow the detection of animal viruses, classified as “obligatory declaration” by the OIE and the CSFVaccine & Wildboar project, to develop a marked vaccine for African Swine Fever and its accompanying diagnostic techniques.
Actually, she is also participating in the project Improved vaccine for Bluetongue disease, in which the efficacy of new vaccines for bluetongue disease will be tried out.
