X Modelling Week

X Modelling WeekWe engage with the X Modelling Week at the Faculty of CC. Mathematics of the UCM from 13 to 17 June 2016.

The proposed problem consists on developing a video analysis system in real time for early detection of diseases in farms. For this work, 8 animals were continuously recorded for 4 weeks. During this period, the animals developed African swine fever (ASF) and we could notice clear signs of fatigue (which implies a motion reduction). The system perform image processing techniques based on mathematical-statistical techniques in order to identify and classify animal behaviour in their various states: eating, playing, sleeping or resting. Furthermore, the system detects abnormal behavior when the infection reaches its virulence moments for alert triggering.
