The laboratory that monitors the role of cats and dogs in Covid
Together with his team, Sánchez-Vizcaíno closely monitors the behavior of SARS-CoV2 in animals with different objectives: they analyze virus samples from four species and the sequences; they have an experimental program with cats they infect with coronavirus; and they are also working on two prototypes of animal vaccines in case they need to be inoculated.
All this financed by the Carlos III Health Institute of Madrid and carried out under his direction in the laboratory of the Viral Immunology and Preventive Medicine Service of the Veterinary Health Surveillance Center (VISAVET) of the Complutense University of Madrid.
